Resignation Letter Generator
Fill in a few details and get a short, professional resignation letter or email. In HR, I processed hundreds of resignations. The best ones were brief: a clear statement, a last working day, an offer to help with the handover, and nothing that could be used against the person later.

What HR wishes you knew before resigning
- Tell your manager in person or on a call first, then send the letter the same day. The written version is what HR files and uses to set your last day.
- State an exact last working day. "Two weeks from now" creates confusion about final pay, benefits end dates and PTO payout.
- Keep reasons short or leave them out. Complaints belong in an exit interview, if anywhere — the letter stays in your file permanently.
- Before you resign, check your offer is signed, your background check has cleared, and you know whether unused PTO is paid out in your state or country.
- Expect a counteroffer conversation. Decide in advance whether any number would change your mind.
